Interview

Luciano Castiglione: “You were born to be happy, not to be perfect, so stop trying to please others.”

Luciano Castiglione @lucho.fights is a model who started in this industry because a photographer confused him for a model at a show’s backstage and then who now is his manager contacted him. Such a unique and amazing beginning!

However, not everything started as good as his modeling career. Unfortunately, Luciano’s childhood “was very uncommon” as he told us in the interview, but he states that it has given him different perspectives of life that are now part of him. At the age of four, he moved to Italy and he was bullied.

“Bullying was not fun, kid groups always are prone to pick on the different ones, so I had to learn a lot about my self-worth, anxiety and communication.”

It may be shocking for many people because it’s really rare for someone to get a positive outcome when being bullied but Luciano knew how to “benefit” from this situation. As he suffered so many struggles during the time when he was bullied, he now knows how to deal with anxiety and mental health problems. That’s why he is now an anxiety coach for entrepreneurs!

“The mind is such an important game, and not everybody knows the actual creative power that a single thought can have.”

We want to mention a couple of interesting cases he commented about his job that we feel you need to know because it may help some of you:

“When I trained clients, I noticed they wanted to change their bodies, but the meaning was something deeper…they wanted to see themselves differently, so they could have permission to feel different about themselves! So it was a self-confidence issue more than an aesthetic one.”

“If you just don’t know any better, you believe that your surroundings will always be like they are now. You think that you just “can’t do that” or “can’t be like that” because the rules are made by someone else. Those beliefs start molding your life…and all of a sudden your life is everything that you didn’t ever want it to be…”

Besides being an anxiety coach, having to deal with anxiety issues led him to low self-esteem, until he found martial arts as a self-development practice. That lead him into winning England’s KickBoxing FFChampionship, and later on retiring to become a model and entrepreneur.

Just by reading these short fragments of what Luciano is capable of as an anxiety coach we know that he is really passionate about it and knows what he’s doing. That is why we wanted to ask him for some advice for our readers because it may be one of the best person to give advice. Here is one fragment of what he told us.

“You were born to be happy, not to be perfect, so stop trying to please others and start working your a*s off to please yourself. Because that’s the most important person in your world.”

Q: How and why did you start modeling?

A: I always looked up to models since a kid but never got the courage to try it myself! I started modeling when a photographer confused me for a model at a show’s backstage, that picture moved along until my manager saw me and contacted me.

Q: How did your childhood affect your future life?

Even though my childhood was very uncommon, it gave me a lot of different perspectives that are now part of me. I moved as a 4-year-old to Italy, without even knowing the language or having friends there. Bullying was not fun, kid groups always are prone to pick on the different ones, so I had to learn a lot about my self-worth, anxiety and communication. I love the fact that I can help others with the same issues now! So you could say that I made the best out of it!

Q: You mentioned your passion for psychology. How did you start being an anxiety coach?

A: I did a lot of research and therapy for my own mindset when I competed professionally, the mind is such an important game, and not everybody knows the actual creative power that a single thought can have. When I trained clients, I noticed they wanted to change their bodies, but the meaning was something deeper…they wanted to see themselves differently, so they could have permission to feel different about themselves! So it was a self-confidence issue more than an aesthetic one. That made me rearrange all of the focus for my training, less combat training, and more stress relief work. You’d be surprised at how easy is to build a body you always wanted, when you let go of all the subconscious beliefs that are actively fighting against it, without you even getting to notice. It’s some transformational work that is extremely life-changing.

Q: What do you like most about it?

A: Being an anxiety coach, I can bring support, a positive outlook and self-improvement tools that can make all the difference in the world for a person that was in the same situation as me. If you just don’t know any better, you believe that your surroundings will always be like they are now. You think that you just “can’t do that” or “can’t be like that” because the rules are made by someone else. Those beliefs start molding your life…and all of a sudden your life is everything that you didn’t ever want it to be… and I’m here to shatter your paradigm, offer you a different reality, and re-connect yourself with your true, inner power, that is your birthright to use. It’s meaningful work, and it’s exactly what I didn’t have access to, in the darkest times of my life.

Q: Can you tell us more about how you got to winning England’s KickBoxing FFChampionship?

It was a great experience, movie-like feeling, there’s nothing like it pretty much… Training super hard every day for 2 months, then putting everything on the line against a professional killer that is trying to knock you out….definitely not for everyone. But exactly for me! haha I just love my life being so intense.

Q: What other projects do you have in mind?

A: I have tons of projects! I am currently making music, creating a Mind, Soul & Body Wellbeing program for Companies to use in their A-Player Teams,  and a super off-topic balcony garden project I just started! I just love to celebrate how crazy and diverse my creation can be!

Q: Would you like to give any kind of advice to our readers?

A: Of course. I might not know you personally, but I know one thing: you are more special than you think. You can do whatever the f*ck you want to do in this life, but you have to believe in yourself. If you see things in your life that you don’t like, give yourself permission to change those. Don’t just keep accepting them, go ahead and change them! Reclaim your power, understand the real effect of your thoughts, and how they shape your reality day by day. You were born to be happy, not to be perfect, so stop trying to please others already, and start working your a*s off to please yourself. Because that’s the most important person in your world. I love you <3
