Through this editorial, the photographer and stylist wanted to showcase the juxtaposition of the luxury brands, the model’s chiseled face, and tattoos, as well as the Welsh countryside. The rays of sunshine reflected on both his jet black hair and on his brown eyes, reflecting his mixed-race heritage. The grainy feel of the photos would convey a sense of intimacy.
“I went to see new collections at Selfridges where I handpicked new pieces to mix with vintage,” says Best. “I scouted the location on an Airbnb, a stunning wooden lodge in Wales with mountain backdrops. We were extremely lucky it was a sunny dry day. I was inspired by the photography of Sirius Film, Danika, a friend of the business. I was also inspired by a friend a talented photographer & stylist, Joshua Perotti.”
The equipment used was a Canon 35mm and the location chosen was Welshpool, Wales.
