Trompe-l’œil Knitwear and Cotton Apparel Evoke Classic Video Game Aesthetics.

A Throwback to Pixel Art in Fashion
Jonathan Anderson’s LOEWE offered a pixelated array back in April 2023, crafting clothes that seemed straight out of an 8-bit video game. Dressed in striking hues of yellow-tan and baby blue and outlined in black, the pieces delivered a convincing two-dimensional trompe-l’œil illusion. Now, the house unveils its pixel collection in a monochromatic palette.
The Latest in LOEWE’s Pixel Collection
Like its predecessors, the latest release includes hoodies and T-shirts made from either a technical knit or cotton. The hoodie stands out with its most illusionary effects. A grey base outlined in black, or a black base with white contrast details, gives the garment structured shoulders, hems, drawstrings, and further 2D elements on the hood and pocket.
LOEWE’s T-shirt cleverly disguises its house monogram in a pixelated form, using embroidery that — upon closer inspection — reveals a multitude of colors that play tricks on the eye.
Where to Find LOEWE’s Pixel Collection
These new pixelated items can be found in-store and online, along with a wider selection of complementary items, ranging from the original technical knit pixelated T-shirt to denim twin-sets. A deep dive into the collection feels akin to exploring the pixelated landscapes of retro video games.
