Ermenegildo Zegna Fall 2021: The(Re) Set | (Re)tailoring the modern man

Ermenegildo Zegna Fall 2021. If there is one thing that the pandemic has left to all industries and people in the world is the rethinking of the way we usually do things. This involves reconsidering from new perspectives to decide whether any decisions made in a certain area should be changed. This is what the brand’s artistic director Alessandro Sartori (I.G. @alessandrosartoriofficial) states for its Fall/Winter 2021 collection for Ermenegildo Zegna, entitled The (Re)Set:

THE (RE)SET, “(Re)tailoring the modern man”

We all are experiencing a new reality concerned with new needs, which lead us to previously unseen lifestyles and attitudes. It is precisely at a time like this, when everything is under discussion, that we, at Zegna, have decided to (Re)set. We have looked at our roots to (Re)interpret our style codes and (Re)tailor the modern man. Outdoor and indoor come together and a new way of dressing takes hold, where comfort and style blend to create a new aesthetic.”

Alessandro Sartori

While it is true that something big and new is expected for this new beginning season of fashion weeks under the challenge posed by the pandemic, the start that occurs with Zegna begins a direct dialogue to the context that is currently being experienced. The statement shown in the collection is with a view to (Re) Set, that while although it is with a highly contemporary look the proposal does not leave aside its roots.

Such an approach is not only carried out in the textile field. The showcase format of the collection presents a narrative that exceeds the traditional format of the physical runway show. Although it is true that the models are shown walking across different locations in Milan, the fact that they can be seen in different formal, social, and everyday contexts, be it from the individual and urban to the social level (and under the new normal) gives a greater relevance to the way in which the looks that make up the collection are presented, in a sense that give a greater familiarity to its consumer, giving the idea that clothes cant’ be confined within one category or use, they are intertwined across different aspects of our life.
