Italian luxury brand Dsquared2 has teamed up with English Premier League club Manchester City to launch an exclusive capsule collection. The collection, set to be released on 11 May, celebrates the brand’s longstanding partnership with the football team and features a range of accessories and ready-to-wear pieces.
Over the last seven years, Dsquared2 has been the official partner behind Manchester City’s pre-match uniforms for players and their Manager, Pep Guardiola. The new capsule collection prominently features the team’s name and crest alongside the Dsquared2 logo, including signature pieces like denim, outerwear, baseball caps, and sneakers.
The launch of this collection signifies the evolution of logo-heavy fan merchandise, where luxury brands are now catering to football fans who are willing to pay a premium price to show their support. Such collaborations would have been unlikely in the past, but modern football and designer fashion fan wants to proclaim their allegiances very loudly.
The capsule collection includes two different logo designs. One features the words ‘Dsquared2 for Manchester City Limited Edit’ printed in white on a black tailored jacket with a split vent, a blue denim shirt and jeans, a black crewneck knit, a baseball cap, and the tongue of black lace-up boots. The other design features the Manchester City circular crest printed in white on a black bomber jacket, a back pocket of black straight-fit denim jeans, a black jumper knit, a beanie, a baseball cap, and a backpack. Low-top black leather sneakers are printed with white Manchester City on the reverse.
The collection also features a unique hangtag and internal label, both featuring the capitalised words ‘Dsquared2 for Manchester City Limited Edit’.
The Dsquared2 x Manchester City capsule collection will be available in selected stores later this month, allowing fans to celebrate their love of football and fashion in style.
