Fashion designer Dries Van Noten has unveiled an essential denim capsule collection for both men and women, turning the everyday material into a magnificent showcase of expert dyeing techniques.
For the Spring/Summer 2023 season, Dries Van Noten has introduced a captivating denim capsule collection for both men and women. The range, characterized by a distinctive, artisanal dyeing technique, comprises shirts, jeans, shorts, skirts, and outerwear.
At the core of this artisanal collection is its remarkable visual appeal, achieved through a complex bleach–dipping process deeply rooted in an age-old tradition.
The designer first utilized the bleach-dipping method in the Spring/Summer 2011 womenswear collection, inspired by Belgian painter Jef Verheyen’s manipulation of light in his artwork. The current season’s design aesthetic draws inspiration from the late artist’s organic gradations of color, continuing the brand’s 2011 vision through a modern lens.

The late artist’s abstract color gradations inspired the awe-inspiring process, in which intense hues suddenly transition into contrasting shades on the same material.
Fast forward to the present, the denim capsule collection revitalizes the original 2011 concept, introducing a series of energetic, casual pieces ideal for contemporary closets.
The exclusive collection is set to debut on April 19th at driesvannoten.com, Dries Van Noten stores, as well as ssense.com and Ssense Montréal.
