Dior Partners with Vissla to Launch Eco-Conscious Surfwear Collection

A Japanese-Made Wetsuit Collection from Dior and Vissla

As summer approaches, luxury fashion powerhouse Dior partners with environmentally conscious surfwear label Vissla to unveil an elite line of wetsuits. These unique designs, produced in limited quantities, combine recycled quick-dry jersey fabrics, custom hollow fiber thermal lining, and fine Japanese foam, all carrying a premium price tag of $3,300 USD.

Integrating High Performance and Luxury in Surfing Gear

The collection’s flagship wetsuit includes a 3mm full suit complete with a hybrid zip-up entry system, a Dior “CD Diamond Jacquard” thermal torso lining made from recycled polyester, and GBS seams that offer “optimum sea land performance.” Additionally, the line encompasses a spring suit and a jacket (retailing at $2,450 USD), leveraging the same sustainable materials for warmer climates.

The Collaboration of Luxury Fashion and Sustainable Surfwear

Rob McCarty, VP of Vissla Design, expressed excitement about the collaboration, describing it as a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.” The team strived to design the world’s finest handmade surfing wetsuits for Dior, merging the right fit, function, and materials. The distinctive French styling touch of the Dior design team and the expert craftsmanship of Axxe, their manufacturing partner, have combined to create these handcrafted wetsuits in Japan.

Commitment to Ocean Conservation and Sustainable Fashion

This range falls under Dior’s broader Beachwear Capsule, aligning with the French Maison’s annual collaboration with Parley for the Oceans, an environmental group fighting major ocean threats. By embracing ParleyAIR’s strategy—Avoid, Intercept, Redesign—the Dior x Vissla wetsuit collection reflects a continued commitment to sustainable luxury fashion.

This exclusive collection, together with the full Dior Beach capsule, is available now on Dior’s website. Check out the designs in the gallery above.
