Some icons don’t need reinventing: just the right collaborator.
For its second collaboration with Seoul’s ADERERROR, BIRKENSTOCK pushes the legendary Boston into a more conceptual territory. Celebrating the clog’s 50th anniversary, the capsule strips away nostalgia in favor of a sharper narrative built around “Thread”—a symbol of connection, transformation, and the invisible links between craftsmanship, fashion, and culture.
The result is two distinct interpretations. The Boston Cap leans into utility with a double-layer leather construction and protective overlays, while the Boston Flap completely disrupts the silhouette through an oversized leather flap finished with bold blanket stitching. Both styles carry ADERERROR’s signature zigzag embroidery, turning every seam into part of the story.

What makes the collaboration work isn’t the added details: it’s the restraint. The Boston remains instantly recognizable, anchored by BIRKENSTOCK’s anatomical cork footbed, while ADERERROR injects the kind of post-minimalist edge that has made the Seoul label one of fashion’s most influential creative voices.
It’s not a nostalgia drop. It’s a quiet evolution of a silhouette that has never stopped being relevant.
The BIRKENSTOCK x ADERERROR collection launches globally on August 6, available through 1774, ADERERROR, selected BIRKENSTOCK stores, and premium retailers worldwide.
