The girl who went from a water polo tournament to Fashion Week, powered by curiosity, speed, and a refusal to become boring

Welcome to A Day With…, Vanity Teen’s new editorial series dedicated to the personalities shaping fashion’s next generation. More than a traditional model profile, the column offers an intimate snapshot of the people behind the images—their obsessions, contradictions, dreams, playlists, and the unexpected details that make them unforgettable.

Now in its second chapter, the series continues to build its own rhythm—an evolving archive of voices that exist firmly in the present while constantly projecting themselves into another future.

We spend a day with Anjali Kambham, the California-born model represented by The French Management, whose story reads like a sequence of accidental moments that somehow feel perfectly designed: discovered barefoot in a swimsuit at a Whole Foods after a water polo tournament, she went from studying Computer Science at UC Berkeley to being thrown directly into the whirlwind of New York Fashion Week.

Anjali belongs to a new generation of talents who move effortlessly between intellect, instinct, and individuality. One moment she’s talking about searching for the truth, the next she’s racing through life aboard her beloved ’91 Miata or Honda CB300F. Equal parts internet-era icon, fashion outsider, and free spirit, she embodies a refreshing kind of authenticity that can’t be manufactured.

For this chapter, Vanity Teen collaborates with Seconde Paris, the emerging Paris-based label that quietly became one of our standout discoveries during the latest Fall/Winter Women’s Fashion Week. Already featured in an exclusive conversation with us (read it HERE), the brand continues to define a new language of contemporary dressing—one that sits between nostalgia and disruption, precision and instinct. Its presence here feels less like a collaboration and more like a shared frequency with the world of A Day With….
From Britney Spears’ legendary 2001 VMA performance to late-night existential questions, from Hollywood creep-core references to California sunlight, welcome to a day inside Anjali Kambham’s world—where every answer feels like the beginning of another future.

Did you ever find the truth, or did you realize the search was the point all along? Please tell me Britney is still relevant, the Miata is still alive, and you haven’t become boring. If you have, go buy something reckless and call Nia. Whatever happens, stay weird, stay kind, and keep following the things that make absolutely no sense to anyone else.
See you soon, Anjali
