For the seventh entry of Vanity Teen’s On Our Radar Fall/Winter 2026 Special Edition in Paris, the spotlight briefly shifts. The rubric is usually dedicated to emerging designers reshaping the fashion landscape, but sometimes a collection demands attention regardless of category. This season, GANNI earns a special mention — a moment too compelling to ignore.
There’s a strange calm at the heart of the presentation. The kind that arrives just before the wind picks up. Stones lie scattered across the space in raw, organic shapes, draped with soft plaids, lace and blankets that collapse over their weight like fragments of memory. Light bounces off brushed reflective platforms while mannequins stand still, almost ceremonial.
At the centre, a towering rock becomes both stage and canvas. Danish painter Linus Alexander Hübell Salic works live, painting directly onto the stone throughout the presentation — a slow, meditative act that turns the installation into something alive. Fashion meets performance, meets landscape.
Creative Director Ditte Reffstrup looks north for the emotional core of the collection. Specifically to Hirtshals, her hometown on the rugged coast of northern Denmark, where winter is not a season but a force. Growing up there means learning early that nature doesn’t deal in opposites. It is harsh and beautiful, protective and destructive at once.
That tension shapes the wardrobe.
The GANNI woman moves through the collection wrapped in protective layers: chunky knitwear, blanket skirts and faux shearling coats that feel almost elemental. Beneath them, softness emerges — lace trims, lingerie cutlines and ruffles tracing the body with quiet delicacy. Empire silhouettes and waistcoats echo historical underpinnings, while heavy wool outerwear gives the looks a grounded, almost sculptural presence.
Prints refuse restraint. Leopard is blown up and distorted, colliding with checks and electric florals. The palette pulls from the landscape — earthy browns and beiges like stone and sand — interrupted by jolts of green, purple and acid yellow. Silhouettes expand outward, protective and slightly rebellious, where girlishness meets a sharper, almost defiant attitude.
Accessories continue the narrative. The Very Bou Bag evolves the house’s signature shape with a butterfly lock closure, while the Kat Shoulder Bag returns wrapped in faux shearling. Footwear pushes the ballet reference introduced last season into colder territory with the Jenny High Boot, finished with a fold-over collar and studded trim.
Behind the scenes, the brand’s sustainability work also advances. Following its B Corp recertification, GANNI introduces new materials through its Fabrics of the Future initiative, including Ohoskin® and Oleatex® — leather alternatives derived from orange and olive waste — alongside InResST®, a recycled nylon created from abandoned ocean fishing nets.
Still, what lingers is not the materials, or even the silhouettes. It’s the atmosphere.
For Fall/Winter 2026, the GANNI woman stands like a landscape shaped by wind and sea — resilient, unpredictable, and quietly powerful. She doesn’t choose between strength and softness. She carries both.
And sometimes, that balance is exactly what makes a collection impossible to overlook.
