With a stage name that speaks of honesty and candor, Francamente – born Francesca Siano — is emerging as one of the most compelling voices of Italy’s new music generation. Her artistry effortlessly blends modern electronic textures with the traditions of singer-songwriter craft, weaving intimate stories with universal resonance, where personal emotions and social reflections coexist without ever feeling forced.

Francamente first captured public attention during her appearance on X Factor 2024, where she impressed both judges and audiences with her original song “Paracadute”, a piece celebrated for its emotional depth and mature songwriting.

Since then, she has continued to carve out a coherent and distinct artistic path: opening for Carmen Consoli and steadily building a a presence among fans of independent and contemporary Italian music.
Her forthcoming single, La casa dei miei nonni, released on January 30, 2026, marks a new chapter in her artistic journey. The song reflects themes of belonging, family bonds, and the beauty found in life’s imperfections — a testament to Francamente’s ability to transform personal experiences into universally resonant narratives.

In this interview, we explore her artistic evolution, musical influences, stylistic choices, and the delicate interplay between personal life and creative expression.
Francamente is more than a rising musician; she is a voice of authenticity and introspection, proving that contemporary music can not only entertain, but also reflect, inspire, and engage with society at large.

Your stage name, Francamente, really stands out. Does it reflect how you want to be seen as an artist?

Yes it does. I try to be honest with my music by sharing the creative process as well as my feelings.

After your time on X Factor 2024, what’s changed in how you write songs or perform on stage?

Nothing change in the writing process, but I learnt such a lot of things in terms of performance and songwriting. However the daily work in studio has been a huge game changer in the way I write my songs.

Paracadute was a standout original on the show. How did it come about, and what does it mean to you now?

You are so kind.
Paracadute it’s my beginning. It always reminds me where I came from and which one is my music dimension. At the same time, I love to move from itm trying to explore new tastes and sounds.

Would you describe yourself more as a songwriter or a performer? And do you prefer being live on stage or in the studio?

They are different faces of the same process. Sometimes I prefer being on stage than writing in studio, sometimes it is the other way around. But I love them both and I feel so lucky by growing up doing what I love.

Your music blends electronic sounds with singer-songwriter vibes. Who are your biggest influences, in Italy and beyond?

I love Alice, Franco Battiato and Giuni Russo. Beyond I would say Kate Bush, Cocteau Twins and lately the amazing Lola Young.

When you create a song, do you start with the lyrics, a melody, or just a feeling?

It depends. Every song has all the elements you listed, but they always come in a different order. You never know.

Your songs are emotional but also carry messages about society. How do you balance personal feelings with bigger themes?

I still don’t know, but I am very open to suggestions if anyone have some.

You speak a lot about inclusivity and language in music. How important is it for you that your art has a social message?

Trying to share social messages by art is a duty and a privilege at the same time. I cannot imagine to being in front of a microphone and do not use it to speak up about injustice.

Do you think artists today have a responsibility toward society, or should music just be free expression?

I think everybody has the responsibility you talked about.

Have you ever worried that your social or political engagement might overshadow your music, or do you see them as one and the same?

Political engagement and music are not the same, but it would be weird to only play without expressing my ideas. Of course not all the people agree with me.

You opened for Carmen Consoli’s concerts. What did you take away from watching her perform up close?

I learnt how to be humble, powerful and marvollous at the same time. Every stage is important, every audience deserves gratitude and respect.

Was there a moment during those shows when you felt you truly grew as an artist?

I felt it all the time, from traveling to talk to Carmen and her band.

Your new single La casa dei miei nonni dropped Jan 30!
What’s the story behind it and how should it make people feel?

The new single tells a familiar story that could belong to anyone. The focus is on family similarities and the need to distance ourselves at times from those who raised us in order to do what we want.

If you could collaborate with any artist — Italian or international — who would it be and why?

I would love to work with Emma Nolde ‘cause she is great.

If you had to sum up this moment in your life in one word, what would it be?

Transformation.

Where’s your next project headed – more experimental sounds or a return to simplicity?

Maybe a mix of both? I hope so.
