This editorial captures a universal moment: the stage in life when rebellion takes hold. It’s a celebration of youth in its purest form—fearless, unapologetic, and wildly free. The images channel raw energy, offering a glimpse into untamed liberation and playful spontaneity.

To convey this spirit, the photographer took a bold technical approach, using a rare 35mm black-and-white film from 1999 to match the nostalgic tone of the concept. Digital shots were also taken as a safeguard, later edited to perfectly blend with the film’s aesthetic, creating a cohesive visual language.

Though photographed in a studio, the setting was transformed into a space of movement and imperfection. Fabrics were introduced to break the rigid structure of the environment, adding texture and depth that echoed the free-spirited mood of the narrative.

Personal history played a vital role—experiences of growing up, navigating independence, freedom, and sexuality, subtly infused with the photographer’s Latin American roots. These influences were woven into the work not literally, but through nuance and emotional resonance, making the series both deeply personal and universally relatable.

Post-production became a defining step. While the initial mix included both color and monochrome, the decision to present the entire series in black and white brought unity, emotional weight, and timelessness, elevating the story’s impact.

The shoot was a true collaboration. The model’s improvisations, combined with the stylist’s vision, the makeup artist’s precision, and the assistants’ support, created a dynamic atmosphere where the initial concept evolved into something richer—an authentic portrait of rebellious youth.
