The dialogue between architecture and design by Bayria Eyewear continues in the van der Rohe collection, inspired by the essence of the art of the modernist master of the Bauhaus movement, who revolutionized architecture through the innovative use of materials like glass, steel, and marble, combining them into pure and harmonious forms.
In the architect’s essential geometry, “less is more” becomes a statement of intent: pure lines, noble materials, and essential details that characterize objects and works.

Bayria adopts this philosophy, transforming glasses into true micro-architectures for the face. The models of the new collection embrace this legacy, using for the first time galvanized metal, which provides brightness and lightness, paired with acetate inserts on the front pieces, in a perfect balance of different textures and colours. These elements create a refined contrast, echoing the interplay of materials and nuances of the objects designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, where shiny steel met the warm grain of wood or marble.

The thin steel frames evoke the facades of the designer’s glass and steel skyscrapers: ethereal structures capable of concealing an invisible strength. The shiny metal reflects light, much like the glass of the Seagram Building reflects the Manhattan sky. Acetate inserts on the front pieces break the continuity of the metal with a soft and refined touch, softening the rectangular shapes of the frames and recalling the fluidity of the Barcelona Pavilion, where material bends to a higher order.
The temple reveals its metal core before transitioning to an acetate tip, a detail expressing continuity and transformation, celebrating the dialogue between structure and ornament. The logo under lacquer on the tip and nose pads is a discreet but distinctive accent, highlighting attention to detail. The lenses, with internal anti-reflection coating, ensure clear and comfortable vision, adding another level of functionality without compromising design purity.

The color combinations of the materials evoke the interiors of the era, conjuring the atmosphere of modernist living rooms, where every colour was designed to interact with light: black, white, tortoiseshell brown, burgundy, full-bodied, and earthy colours contrasting with the coldness of the metal.
Through this collection, Bayria elevates the modernist aesthetic of van der Rohe, merging it with contemporary artisanal precision. These glasses are not mere functional objects: they are wearable works that bring modernist philosophy directly to the eyes of those who wear them. In every line, a reflection; in every corner, an idea. A bridge between Bauhaus and contemporary design.
