The Pope’s trendy B-kei fashion has become a viral sensation on social media! A photo of the Pope sporting a large, white jacket has been making rounds on social media for quite some time. The picture looks genuine, but it’s actually an image generated by AI. Surprisingly, it’s not Hollywood stars or famous models that have caused a stir on social media in recent times, it’s the Pope, himself. The Pope’s fashion sense is giving off some major American rapper vibes with his big, fluffy white jacket and a cross around his neck. The feather prints on his jacket are all in large sizes, making him stand out even more.
This photo appeared around Fashion Week, and people on Instagram have referred to it as “drip,” which is slang for something that’s cool or awesome. “Drip” is a word often used in American slang to describe the cool style of a rapper. Words like “The sacred drip,” “Pope Francis got a serious drip,” “The Pope really dripped on you sinners,” and more were being thrown around with the image, and the internet went wild. Unfortunately, this picture was fake, and the Pope never actually wore that jacket. An AI stylist generated the image.
Forbes magazine reports that the photo wasn’t taken by a paparazzo, but was created using Midjourney’s AI software. Despite the technology is sophisticated, it’s easily accessible.
To create an image, all you need to do is log on to Midjourney through an online forum called “Discord” and type in a series of keywords to generate an AI image from scratch.
A modern version of the Pope’s image was posted on Reddit, and it quickly went viral on Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.
