YSL Beauty appoints Barbie Ferreira as their new brand ambassador

Barbie Ferreira continues to succeed in the fashion and beauty industry. The 25-year-old actress has just been named as the new ambassador for YSL Beauty and will be promoting both YSL perfumes and makeup products. 

Although she jumped to fame for her role in Euphoria Barbie Ferreira has a years-long modeling career that started by chance, with an American Apparel open casting call, and she has since modeled for brands including Aerie, Adidas, Asos, Forever 21, H&M, Missguided and Target. Now she joins a list of stars appointed by the Parisian firm that includes Dua Lipa, Zoë Kravitz and BLACKPINK‘s Rosé.

Ferreira’s partnership with YSL Beauty was officially announced alongside her first campaign with the firm, promoting the brand’s newest mascara, named Lash Clash, which was released last month.

According to the brand, Lash Clash features the “biggest brush ever created in our laboratories.”  And we can expect Ferreira appearing in a series of campaigns across YSL Beauty’s digital platforms in the future, both supporting YSL Makeup and the brand’s iconic fragrance, Black Opium.

The brand shared the news on Instagram along with an image and a video in which the actress is wearing a total black look. As for her beauty look, Barbie wears her hair in a polished ponytail, gold-toned eyeshadow, long, voluminous eyelashes and nude lipstick. 

In a statement, Barbie spoke about the importance of makeup in her life and how it has become a tool of expression for her. “I’ve never shied away from expressing myself through makeup,” the actor says via the press release. “Makeup is a passion of mine, and I’m so excited and honored to be working with YSL Beauty and the legacy the brand has built.”

David Lop, the VP of Global Communications for the brand, expressed in the release that, “Barbie represents the brand’s vision of the future, pushing boundaries in both culture and beauty with freedom of expression at our core”. Recognising her as a “unique creative who inspires her community to embrace their edge and individuality”.
