OTW by Vans teams up with multidisciplinary artist Julian Klincewicz to unveil a deeply personal collection rooted in his ongoing project Joyous Chorus — a visual universe built from daily sketches, textures, and intimate symbols.
The collaboration reimagines classic silhouettes including the Old Skool 36 and Style 31, alongside apparel and accessories, all infused with Klincewicz’s hand-drawn graphics and raw visual language.
The result is less a traditional collection and more a living sketchbook — wearable fragments of his creative world.
“At the core of this project, I was inspired by early Southern California influences — skate culture, circus imagery, music, new friendships, the sun, the beach,” Klincewicz explains.
Having moved to San Diego at a young age, those memories still carry a childlike immediacy: bold colors, imperfect sketches, endless summer days at the skatepark.
The idea of wear is central to the collection. Shoes are designed to evolve through use — scuffed by skating, faded by time, stained with life itself.
“I imagined everything already fully worn in when I designed it,” he says. “Torn through skateboarding, faded by puddles, scribbled on with pens. That’s what I love about Vans — they’re made to be used. They come alive through wear.”
In Klincewicz’s hands, imperfection becomes intention, and aging becomes design.
The collection captures that rare balance between utility and poetry — where every scratch tells part of the story.
