Vans Delve into Barbie’s Pink World for their Latest Collection, Blending 21st Century Touches with Classic Doll Style
In an exciting new collaboration, Vans enters Barbie’s pink plastic world. Introduced last Thursday, the brand has partnered with Barbie to create a collection that reflects the authentic style of Barbie dolls, complete with a real 21st-century twist.
Footwear That Captures the Iconic Barbie Style
The collection features four unique footwear items that merge Barbie’s iconic style with Vans’ punk aesthetic. Included are ultra-high pink platforms for extra height and nostalgic prints from the ’90s. Leading the collection is the SK8-Hi Tapered Stackform shoe ($115), nodding to the classic Barbie style with a pink and white color combination. For added Barbiecore touches, the shoe includes a custom keychain with a silicone “B” and a molded rubber crust on the heel.
Delicate Details and a Range of Accessories
The Vans x Barbie release also includes more delicate items such as the Vans x Barbie Style 93 Dx shoe ($100). This design showcases a mary jane silhouette with a customized bow buckle and a rubber toe cap. To create head-to-toe looks, the line offers accessories and clothing, including pink overalls ($110), mini backpacks ($50), and cropped sweaters and blouses in a multicolored swirl pattern ($40).
A Celebration of Barbie
Vans is one of the latest brands to collaborate with Barbie, celebrating the recently released “Barbie” movie starring Margot Robbie as the titular doll. The live-action movie, directed by Greta Gerwig, also stars Issa Rae, Kate Mckinnon, Dua Lipa, and Ryan Gosling as Ken, Barbie’s favorite toy. This collaboration presents an enticing blend of Barbie’s charm and Vans’ rebellious spirit, making it a truly one-of-a-kind collection.
