Dries Van Noten has infused an aura of “Unexpected Elegance” into the Fall 2024 menswear collection, creating a narrative that extends the theme of “familiar to strange, strange to familiar” from the last women’s show. The show commenced and concluded with sleek, elongated black tailored coats, with models primarily donning black, almost slipper-like leather shoes.
This season, Dries Van Noten challenges the conventions of classic tailoring: incorporating ‘country-style’ (in the designer’s own words) voluminous scarves into fitted suits and overcoats; pairing knitted sleeve covers with leather T-shirts; or styling a sweater with one sleeve tucked in and the rest draped over the other shoulder.
