You know how bucket bags are supposed to have a drawstring closure that, when you pull, end up like a garlic (just the shape, not smelly like one, unless you’re carrying garlics in them)? But then French designer Lanvin was like “Nah-uh, we ain’t doing strings,” and so they put a magnetic button closure and it looks like a tote but they’re still totally calling it a bucket bag? I’m sure that didn’t happen explicitly but that’s what Lanvin totally had in mind. Also they were like “We will give you OCD!” and so we end up with not only a strange impostor of a bucket bag but which is also asymmetrical. Which actually? Looks quite lovely. So here it is, the Lanvin Large Asymmetric Bucket Tote via SSENSE!
It’s actually available in 3 different colorways – the Tan, the Black and the Colorblocked version of the two, for those of us who are always indecisive about what to get. Made of grained calfskin in earthy tan/black/black and tan, this tote features panelled asymmetric construction with burnished edges throughout. Can be carried via the adjustable and detachable carry handle with post-stud fastening, D-ring hardware and lanyard clasp fastenings at the top, so it’s either a shoulder carry or a handheld, but it’s big enough to look awkward crossbody so I think it’s cool.
Featuring calfskin pull-loops and logo hardware at the side, this bag is secured (not a lot though) by the magnetic fastening at the throat. All hardware is silver in tone and logo-engraved. While a detachable zippered grained calfskin pouch in black with post-stud fastening at the interior. Now the tan version is unlined and so is the black, exposing the lux, brown raw leather interior, but the color-blocked iteration is lined in brown suede. Measuring approximately 15″ in length by 16″ in height, this bucket tote can hold all your necessities and more for just $2275 USD.
