Directed by Argentine filmmaker Gaspar Noé and guided by brand creative director Anthony Vaccarello, Saint Laurent launches a new short film named Summer Of ‘21, featuring the glamorous actress Charlotte Rampling.
With superb aesthetics, the film features pieces from the brand’s women’s Summer 21 collection, which premiered on December 15 in a jaw-dropping location: the desert of North Africa. The film evokes the genre of Italian mystery thrillers with “red, hazy, velvety light”, according to the press release, accompanied with the powerful song by Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love” which gives it a more mysterious environment.
“A familiar and timeless feeling. Dreaminess and tension, decadence, and danger. The unsettling strangeness of those girls gravitating around Charlotte Rampling, the mysterious and haunted priestess.”
The models Anok Yai, Antonia Przedpelski, Assa Baradji, Aylah Mae Peterson, Charlotte Rampling, Clara Deshayes, Grace Hartzel, Kim Schell, Mica Arganaraz, Miriam Sanchez, Sora Choi, and Stefania Cristian wander through this mystic and mysterious mansion and end up gathering in a theater. The theatre’s curtains open to show Charlotte Rampling, receiving an ovation from all the models. Rampling raises her hands to the sky as a sign of gratefulness as well as hope for what is to come.
