Rosalía continues to showcase her innovative musical prowess in her latest single, “TUYA”. In this latest release, the Grammy-winning artist seamlessly blends her reggaeton roots with distinct Japanese elements, demonstrating her ability to transcend cultural and musical boundaries.
The 3-minute masterpiece, co-produced by Rosalía herself, beautifully marries different music worlds. Accompanying the track is a mesmerizing music video, directed by Stillz, shot entirely in Japan as a tribute to a country Rosalía professes to have a “great love and respect for.” The traditional Japanese instrument, the koto, leaves its mark on the track right from the onset, immediately captivating the listeners.
“Exploration is intrinsic to my musical identity. In ‘TUYA’, I’ve incorporated elements of reggaeton, Japanese instruments, flamenco, and even gabber techno, all coexisting harmoniously,” Rosalía shared in a statement. This blend of unique inspirations further solidifies her position as a trailblazer in the global music scene.
