In the vibrant spirit of Pride month, Spanish sensation Rosalía shares a glimpse of her latest musical venture, “Tuya,” through a snippet of its forthcoming music video.
In the teaser clip, Rosalía serenades us with the lyrics, “For tonight only, I’m yours/ Only for tonight, you’re mine.” Intriguingly, the use of the feminine form of “yours” (tuya) and “mine” (mia) strongly hints towards the song being a heartfelt ode to a female partner.
“From Tokyo With Love: Behind-The-Scenes of ‘Tuya'”
A few weeks prior, Rosalía returned to Tokyo to film the video for “Tuya,” a city she confessed to be smitten with. In her social media post, she wrote, “TUYA DROPS THIS THURSDAY 8TH AT 00:00 SPAIN, 3:00 PM LA, 4 PM MEXICO AND 6 PM NY I DIE”. Accompanying the announcement were sneak peek images from the much-anticipated music video shoot.
“Musical Synergy: Rosalía and Rauw Alejandro”
Before “Tuya,” Rosalía was crafting melodies with her fiancé, Rauw Alejandro. Their collaboration led to “RR,” a joint EP that was released back in March. On the decision to make music together this year, Rosalía shared with Billboard in a joint interview with Rauw, “We wanted to make our relationship solid and build its foundations, and then, if music was meant to come, it would come.”
As Rosalía prepares to drop “Tuya,” the anticipation is palpable. With a narrative seemingly centered around female love, it aligns perfectly with the essence of Pride month, ready to resonate with listeners worldwide. Be sure to mark your calendars for this exciting release and stay tuned for a heartfelt musical tribute to love in all its forms.
