This Monday, August’s 26th, the best of the modern music artists gather in one of the most important dates of the year for the music industry. We’re talking about the MTV Video Music Awards. The world’s best singers will suit up for this glorious meeting, where the best music videos of the year will be awarded.

Where and when?
This year, for the first time in history since 1984, the MTV Video Music Awards will be celebrated in New Jersey, more specifically, in the Prudential Center in Newark, home of the New Jersey Devils hockey on ice team with a capacity for 19.000 people.
You can watch it on MTV both television and YouTube channel starting at 8:00 p.m. ET, as well as other numerous channels like MTV2, VH1, BET, CMT, Comedy Central, Logo TV, Paramount Network and TV Land, according to E! News.
Even though when last year’s show had no host, his year’s ceremony will be hosted by the Italian-American comedian Sebastian Maniscalo.
Despite the fact that the MTV Video Music Awards have aired on Sunday nights like many other shows, this Monday was chosen this year to avoid collision with the Sunday Night Football, hoping that the ratings will go up. The same goes for other MTV awards and who knows, maybe we’ll have an unforgettable ceremony that will make our all-time hated Monday a little less rough.
Performers
Like always, we’ll have performances of a variety of artists like Missy Elliott, Lizzo, the Jonas Brothers, Queen Latifah, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Ozuna, Big Sean, H.E.R., Lil Nas X, Rosalía, A$AP Ferg, Normani, the couple of the moment: Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello (singing live “Señorita” for the first time), among several others, including Taylor Swift, who is going to bring us the opening performance.
Who is on the top?
Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande are the most nominated artists of this year’s ceremony with over 10 nominations each singer thanks to “You Need to Calm Down” and “Thank U, Next”, respectively. Who will come on top? Who will win each category? The answer to these questions and more will be revealed on today’s MTV Video Music Awards. Stay tuned.
