Function Meets Form in an Innovative Menswear Collection by Ludovico Bruno
Mordecai – A Vision to Revolutionize Menswear
Established in Milan by Ludovico Bruno, the Mordecai project aims to reshape the menswear landscape beyond traditional beliefs and seasonal norms. Drawing on his experiences from Ambush, Moncler Gamme Rouge by Thom Browne, and Moncler Gamme Rouge by Giambattista Valli, Bruno employs technical sportswear codes on varied materials, crafting lightweight, adaptable garments with intricate construction.
The Collection – A Blend of Functionality and Aesthetics
The collection, mainly produced in Italy by Hostage, presents 20 unique, layered looks that challenge conventional forms and functions. Elements of the familiar, such as the hooded sweatshirt, buttoned jacket, military cargos, and martial arts-inspired kimonos, transform through adjustable drawstrings, reversible features, pleats, and down filling. The result is an innovative line of garments that straddle the familiar and the new, establishing a fresh standard for modern menswear that prioritizes comfort and technique over trend.
A Comprehensive and Versatile Wardrobe
Mordecai offers an extensive range of streetwear adaptable to any condition. From basics to skewed and conceptual pieces, the collection features combinations of lightweight outerwear in parachute-grade cotton and nylon, merino, mohair and cashmere knitwear, waxed poplin shirts and jackets, washed canvas cargos, and fully fashioned jersey and socks. The pieces layer together seamlessly, creating flexible yet structured ensembles.
