Manchester City Football Club, in collaboration with sportswear giant PUMA, has unveiled their new home jersey for the 2023/24 season. This release marks two decades since the club’s historic relocation to the renowned Etihad Stadium.
Honoring Iconic Features of the Etihad Stadium and the City’s Legacy
The new jersey pays tribute to several distinct elements of the Etihad Stadium and Manchester City’s history. Its design takes cues from the “B of the Bang”, a striking East Manchester sculpture resembling an exploding firework. It also draws inspiration from the kit worn during the club’s inaugural season at the then-City of Manchester Stadium.

Signifying a New Era in Manchester City’s Football Journey
Following an impressive 80-year stint at Maine Road, Manchester City moved a short distance to their current home after the 2002 Commonwealth Games. This relocation signaled the onset of a transformative era for the club, one that truly took off after the Abu Dhabi United Group acquired the club in 2008.
The 2023/24 home jersey is a nod to this pivotal shift. The kit’s front features a pattern inspired by the Etihad Stadium’s unique architecture, particularly the four towering turrets that adorn its exterior. The stadium’s postcode finds a place on the back of the shirt’s neck, while a V-neck collar reminiscent of the first kit worn at the new stadium completes the homage.
Incorporating Advanced Fabric Technology
PUMA has integrated ULTRAWEAVE fabrics into the new kit, alongside a 4-way stretch design that minimizes weight and friction, offering optimal comfort and performance to the players.
For fans, the club also offers a replica version of the official kit. It is made from 100% recycled polyester and features PUMA’s dryCELL sweat-wicking technology to keep wearers dry and comfortable, whether they’re on the pitch or in the stands.
Fans can now purchase the new Manchester City jersey via the club’s official webstore and from PUMA retailers.
