Virgil Abloh’s Off-White is the perfect mix of streetwear and high fashion – an exploration of branding, the zeitgeist, and expressions of contemporary youth culture. Everything from his ready-to-wear lines and range of handbags to homewares oozes a casual, laid-back but also young luxury, featuring inspirations ranging from typography to emotionally significant prints. And his Black Meteor Shirt, made of leather, is no different.
Now I really love me a leather shirt, even though I’d be extremely conscientious when wearing it and would probably be sweating to death. But the luster, the lines and the suppleness of the shirt would be worth it, and what I love more than a plain leather shirt is one decorated with cut-outs. Like this Meteor Shirt right here at SSENSE.
Made of black buffed lambskin, this long-sleeved shirt features cut-out detailing throughout, with a spread collar and button closure at front. Further details include a tonal logo embroidered at chest and two-button barrel cuffs. There are also darts at the back, which I’m sure means something important, and a rounded back hem.
Fully Lined in tonal logo pattern satin, this shirt would be pretty comfortable I think, and not too warm either, perfect for spring, for a price of $2265 USD.
