Chatelain Hyacinthe @thehyacinthe, a 22-years-old black model from Haiti who lives in Paris, wanted to have a conversation with us in this exclusive interview for Vanity Teen online in which we talked about how he become a model, why does he enjoy this job, and some tips of those who want to start a career in this industry. He works for Marilyn Agency Paris, Elite Model London, I Love Model Management Milano and Dominique Models Brussels.
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about your story?
A: My name is Chatelain Hyacinthe I’m 22. I’m a fashion model from Paris and I was born in Haiti on 5 April 1998. Since I was young I always wanted to be successful to help my family and my community. I always wanted to make my mother proud, because she had the strength and courage to raise her four children alone.
Q: What made you become a model?
A: I was discovered on Instagram in August 2018 maybe because I post a lot of pictures of my body especially during my workouts. But more than physical characteristics what has made the difference is my personality and my mentality when I started to work with the agency.
Q: What’s the thing you enjoy the most about modeling?
A: What I most enjoy in the modeling industry is to have the chance to travel the world and meet beautiful people and different cultures. I also think that it’s something where you can express your personality, talents, and creativity.
Q: How do you take care of your body and why do you do it?
A: My body is my working tool, so I take care of it every day. I try to eat healthy very often, I love to eat vegetables and I train five times a week on average.
Q: Best advice anyone has given you?
A: There had been two big pieces of advice that anyone has given to me: The first is from one of my best friends: “Never try to change the mind or character of anyone if he doesn’t want to change it.” The second is from my own: “We are ourselves responsible for our results, so never blame the circumstances or anyone or something else.”
Q: What other interests do you have?
A: I train my mind every day with documentaries, interviews, books, and personal development videos. I like to listen to music, everything I do is with music in my ears. My favorite singer is Celine Dion and Lionel Richie. I love listening to music about love. I have also interests in Jean Claude Van Damme movies and his history. I also like to annoy my girlfriend Cristina, she’s also a model and we are in the same agency.
Q: Why would you recommend to anyone to become a model and which tips would you give them?
A: To be a model is a way to have a lot of opportunities to develop a professional career in the artistic world. My advice for anyone who wants to be a model will be to have a big mindset and know how to manage their own emotions.
