This May, Barbie is partnering with Brooklyn-based artist and designer Colm Dillane – also known as KidSuper – to create the Styled by KidSuper Ken doll – the first Ken in the Styled By series. Renowned for his hand-drawn artistry, playful experimentation and bold collaborations with fashion powerhouses, Colm Dillane brings his signature creativity to the world of Barbie with the Barbie Styled by KidSuper Ken doll. The Styled by KidSuper Ken doll honors his and Barbie’s shared philosophy that young minds can unlock limitless opportunities.
Inspired by Dillane’s SS21 collection, the Barbie Styled by KidSuper Ken doll features an outfit that pays homage to his iconic “Everything’s Fake Until It’s Real” claymation show. The designer’s first collection at Paris Fashion Week centered around turning inanimate objects into lifelike creatures. The doll wears an army jacket with vintage Ken and Barbie illustrations, striped pants with soaring bird prints, and an initialed “KS” hat.
The Barbie Styled by KidSuper Ken doll will be available starting May 9th at 9am PT exclusively on Mattel Creations for $45 for members of Barbie Club 59, then opening to the public on May 10th at 9am PT.
