Q: How would you define yourself?
A: I’m a very optimistic person, who always tries to keep going through things no matter how hard the path gets.
Q: How did you start modeling and why?
A: I started when I was 19 years old, I didn’t expect to do this at all, as by this time I was playing basketball and didn’t think about anything else. Alicia, a makeup artist friend of my mom, saw me someday and told me she had to bring me to someone she knew in the fashion industry. Six months after that I left home.
Q: Do you enjoy your job? What’s the best part for you?
A: I enjoy every single day of my job, it keeps me creative and awake. It pushes me to limits I wouldn’t have to deal with otherwise. The best part for me, it’s always been the people I meet along the way, they taught me so much about myself and I keep really good friendships from this industry.
Q: Would you recommend this job to anyone?
A: Absolutely. But always trying to advise that it’s not easy as some people think it is. You always have to be from here to there, and saying farewell is not always easy. Always trying to keep a positive mind and go through all the ups and downs I think it would be the hardest part of this.
Q: What inspires you and what keeps you going?
A: I get inspired by so many things. Reading, paintings, music, architecture… but I guess what inspires me more is the people. Photographers, editors, stylists, make up artists, other models, bookers… and in general, all the team is what keeps me inspired and wanting to keep going with this.
Q: Best tip anyone has given you?
A: Mom once told me when I left home: “never forget the place you come from, so you will always have a place to come back”, and I never did.
Q: How do you see yourself in a couple of years from now?
A: I see myself doing this. I want to get better and always improve. I see myself as a better model than I am right now.
