Andersson Bell, a label based in Seoul and known for combining contrasting cultural elements through dress, celebrates its 10-year anniversary with its debut at Milan Fashion Week.
Inspiration and Design
Creative Director Dohun Kim draws inspiration from his teenage years wandering through Seoul’s vintage district, where he developed an affinity for military surplus garb and denim wear. In the SS24 collection, the brand melds military and racing-inspired pieces into a distinct look that is quintessentially Andersson Bell.
The 10th Anniversary Collection
This collection brings together a myriad of unlikely design combinations. For instance, frayed jeans transition seamlessly into cargo trousers, and a worn-in biker jacket blends from roughed-up leather to denim. Functionality and garment innovation remain at the core of the collection, as exemplified by key pieces like the roomy anorak constructed from magazine clippings and denim twinsets adorned with protruding, frayed patterns.
Accessories and New Additions
The transformative qualities extend to the season’s accessories, like the leather Vaso bag shaped like a vase, and the Guitar bag, fashioned to resemble the musical instrument’s body. Additionally, Andersson Bell introduces the Aaron Trail, a new unisex sneaker resembling a walking shoe with its padded sole and sturdy upper made of calfskin leather, suede, and nylon. Available in crimson, beige, silver, and black.
Andersson Bell’s debut at Milan Fashion Week marks a significant milestone in its ten-year journey, presenting an innovative collection that blends contrasting design elements and functional fashion for a unique brand aesthetic.
