The Covid-19 pandemic stopped several sectors of the planet for a long time and made 2020 an eternal year. Fortunately, the creative sector was not affected; in fact, it overgrown. And thank God it was like that because otherwise, the quarantines would have been martyrdom. Proof of that would be the guys from American Horror Story (AHS) who, despite the current circumstances, published an official poster for the next season of the horror series.
The post, published on the series official Twitter account, gives a lot to think about how the next season of American Horror Story will look like. The image shows a mouth with sharp teeth, while their tongue is being tattooed -ouch! -. The funny thing will be to know if the person in question would be the antagonist who shall give a good scare to more than one.
Clues are on what the next AHS arc will look like. In fact, last March of this year, Ryan Murphy, creator of the series, published a promotional image of the season on his Instagram account. The image in question shows someone -or something- crawling with their hands on a shore, while in the background you can see the ocean and a dark landscape that gives a gloomy tone to everything. In turn, the post comes with a message from Murphy that says “Things are beginning to wash up on shore” and hints that the terror will come from the bottom of the sea.
Now, what does Murphy mean by “stuff”? Are they sea zombies, people out of Atlantis, or maybe they are mermaids with a thirst for blood? Yes, lads, mermaids. If you thought that they are all like Ariel or taken from a children’s story, you are wrong. Watch Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and you’ll know what I’m talking about. The fact is that the window is open to any possibility and we have a possible scenario where the main plot will unfold.
At the moment, there is no exact date for when the tenth season of American Horror Story will premiere. The series had us used to the seasons coming out between September and October of each year, but, due to pandemic reasons, the launches and many projects in between were delayed.
However, the cast is confirmed. For the tenth season, AHS will have the participation of Macaulay Culkin, being the first appearance in the series of the protagonist of Home Alone. Also confirmed are Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd, Finn Wittrock, Lily Rabe, Adina Porter, Leslie Grossman, and Angelica Ross, as well as fan-favorite artists such as Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters.
Something to keep in mind is the fact that the next season will not be the last of the series. In January this year, during the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, the FX Networks and FX Productions chairman, John Landgraf, assured that AHS will continue for three more seasons.
“Ryan (Murphy) and Brad (Falchuk) are the undisputed masters of horror TV, having created the anthological limited series with American Horror Story and sustaining its success for nearly a decade as FX’s highest-rated series”, Landgraf said. “We are grateful to them and Dana Walden and our studio partners for committing to another three years. AHS has showcased a wealth of award-winning actors since day one and we appreciate the contributions of everyone, including Ryan, Brad and fellow executive producers Tim Minear, James Wong, Alexis Martin Woodall, and Bradley Buecker, the writers, directors, cast, and crew for each new, unforgettable installment of American Horror Story“.
Although we still have to wait for the next season of American Horror Story, we already have more clues of what is coming and three more seasons of pure suspense and terror. Hopefully, many more will come.
If you haven’t seen the previous season of American Horror Story (AHS: 1984), we remind you that you can do it this friday 13th when it comes out on Netflix, in addition to many other series and movies that are about to come out on the streaming platform.
