What do the books we choose to keep reveal about us? Meryll Rogge explores the relationship between fashion, memory and identity through a collaboration with Saint-Martin Bookshop and Elise Gettliffe.

Some people build their wardrobes around a particular piece of clothing, while others find inspiration within the pages of a book. Meryll Rogge brings these two worlds together, joining forces with Brussels-based bookshop Saint-Martin and ceramicist Elise Gettliffe on a project that weaves together publishing, personal memories and artistic experimentation. First unveiled in June 2026 alongside the Spring/Summer 2027 collection, the collaboration takes a more tangible form in October with the release of a curated selection of physical books, including rare and collectible editions, available for individual purchase on the brand’s website.

Among the titles are Comme des Garçons’ Six, Christian Boltanski’s Reconstitution and Martha Cooper’s Hip Hop Files. The collaboration also includes Meryll Rogge x Saint-Martin tote bags, while the books are offered alongside the second drop of SS27 ready-to-wear and accessories.

The result is a personal library that traces a career spanning fashion and sculpture. Each publication offers a glimpse into Elise Gettliffe’s creative references, bringing together different visual languages and artistic influences. The selection also recalls her years in Antwerp and the professional experiences that helped shape her artistic sensibility, including her collaboration with Meryll Rogge.

The concept, however, extends beyond this first selection. The project will unfold through a series of curated editions, each entrusted to a different creative figure invited to explore Saint-Martin’s collection of books, printed matter and rare publications. Every release will be accompanied by an interview and a photographic story, allowing audiences to discover not only the selected titles but also the memories, influences and personal connections behind each choice.

Saint-Martin Is a Bookshop with a Fashion Past

Bringing Saint-Martin into the picture also means revisiting one of the most fascinating locations in Belgian fashion history. In Brussels’ Dansaert district, behind the façade of a distinctive white house, stands a building that was closely associated with Maison Martin Margiela for more than two decades.

Today, those same rooms are home to Saint-Martin Bookshop, a space bringing together contemporary publications, exhibition catalogues, books on architecture, art, design and fashion, as well as hard-to-find editions and collectible pieces. The rooms of the house have become a place to wander through and explore, attracting artists, researchers, curators and enthusiasts alike.

What makes the space particularly compelling is how a building so deeply connected to a designer’s history continues to encourage cultural exchange and creative exploration, despite having taken on an entirely new purpose. Margiela’s legacy is more than just part of the building’s past; it adds another layer of meaning to the collaboration with Rogge, another Belgian designer interested in challenging the conventions of dressing.

SS27 Revisits the Pieces Customers Keep Coming Back To

While the editorial collaboration explores the cultural influences surrounding the label, the second drop of the Spring/Summer 2027 collection turns its attention to the people who actually wear its clothes. Rogge looked closely at her customers’ preferences, identifying some of the brand’s most recognizable and well-loved pieces and using them as the starting point for fresh interpretations.

The collection unfolds through versatile garments and combinations that play with proportions, prints and accessories. Two-tone long-sleeved jersey T-shirts are paired with drawstring chino trousers and shorts, while monochromatic floral motifs appear on mock-neck tops and midi skirts. Layered belts embellished with chain details bring a sharper edge to even the most understated looks.

These details capture Meryll Rogge’s distinctive design language: an aesthetic that borrows the practicality of menswear and sets it against more sophisticated elements traditionally associated with eveningwear. The result resists rigid definitions, making room for a vision of femininity shaped by contrasts, playful irony and freedom of expression.
