This season at Paris Fashion Week, we saw a lot of sheer fabrics, a lot of leather and some pretty experimental materials.
But let’s take a moment to focus on the details that might have escaped our attention.

With the overwhelming amount of content coming out of PFW, it’s almost impossible to go through everything and filter out our favourite moments and details. So here are some of my personal favourites!
Balmain: Sculptural Shoes and Surfaces

From sculptural, almost hourglass-shaped heels to animal prints, marbled surfaces and unexpected colour combinations, Balmain turned accessories into the main attraction. The shoes were almost objects in their own right, with the shape of the heel doing just as much work as the rest of the design.
And then there was the heavily embellished silver bag. Hardly the most low-key accessory, but who needs one? Covered in sequins and beads, it catches the light from almost every angle, while its soft, rounded shape keeps it from looking too rigid. Gorg.
Looking at the embellished fabrics up close makes you appreciate just how much is happening beneath the surface. Tiny beads, sequins and metallic details build up over the patterns, creating a depth you might miss when seeing the looks from a distance. The embellishment doesn’t simply decorate the fabric; it completely changes how it catches the light.
Fidan Novruzova: Purse Problems

These fun bags take inspiration from coin purses, but duplicating the little pouches and playing with the idea of an inside mirror is absolutely genius. They’re playful, compact and a little unexpected, turning an everyday object into something worth looking at twice.
The only problem? Forget which little pocket you put your lipstick in, and you might spend the rest of the night searching for it.
HODAKOVA: Eyes Wide Open

The eyes at HODAKOVA SS27 got pretty freaky at some point, but there was a purpose behind them. The idea was to highlight old habits and wake us up again, with the eye becoming the most direct expression of that intention. It’s difficult to look away when you’re being asked to look differently.
And the chalk deserves a mention, too. It left everyone’s shoes and sleeves white, and somehow the show followed us around for days afterwards. A runway detail that didn’t stay on the runway.
DE PINO: The Bangs Did It

The bangs at DE PINO were sooo fun. Unlike HODAKOVA, where the eyes were the focus, here they were completely hidden. No eyes, just bangs.
It immediately changed the mood of the looks, giving the models a slightly mysterious, almost doll-like appearance. There wasn’t much to figure out or overthink: the hair did the work, and the vibe was there.
Jean Paul Gaultier: The Human Doll

The doll-like prints at Jean Paul Gaultier were much more literal than I first thought. The models appeared almost like life-size mannequins, with printed wooden joints, articulated limbs and torso details creating the illusion of a disassembled doll. Paired with fitted bodysuits, harness-like straps and matching head coverings, the looks played with the line between the human body and an object made to look human. A little uncanny, a little surreal, and definitely hard to ignore.
Acne Studios: The Eiderdown Effect

The eiderdown-like effect at Acne Studios was unexpected on a runway, but it caught my attention immediately. I loved the draping, the print and the styling, especially the way the volume gave the looks a different kind of presence.
There’s something interesting about taking a texture usually associated with warmth, bedding or protection and bringing it into fashion. It makes the clothes feel a little familiar and a little strange at the same time.
Maison Margiela: The Exposed Chest Detail at PFW

The exposed chest layer at Margiela was such a good detail. Instead of simply wearing a shirt or blouse normally, the fabric frames the chest and leaves a section of the body exposed, turning the layering itself into the main feature. Paired with different prints and colours, it gives even the more classic silhouettes an unexpected twist. Definitely one of those details that makes you look twice.
Miu Miu x Wrangler: Underwear on the Outside

Miu Miu x Wrangler SS27 wasn’t on my bingo card, but the combination made sense once the looks started coming out. The exposed underwear, visible laces and little styling details appeared throughout the collection, making the layering feel deliberate rather than accidental.
The styling was on point, as were the fabric combinations. Denim met delicate details, underwear became part of the outfit, and the laces added another layer without taking over. It’s a good reminder that sometimes the smallest styling choices can completely change how a look comes together.

Fashion Week moves so quickly that it’s easy to remember the biggest shows, the most talked-about looks and the obvious trends, while the smaller details get lost somewhere in the scroll. But sometimes, it’s a shoe heel, an unexpected layer or a strange little accessory that stays with you longer than an entire look. These are the Paris Fashion Week details I wanted to give a second look — and the ones that made this season interesting beyond the headlines.
