Forty years, three iconic women and two skylines that need no introduction. Stuart Weitzman is celebrating its 40th anniversary by bringing Gigi Hadid, Misty Copeland and Yang Mi back into the spotlight for a new campaign set against the unmistakable energy of New York City and Shanghai.
Founded in 1986, Stuart Weitzman has built its identity by bringing together two worlds: New York’s fast-paced, cosmopolitan spirit and the craftsmanship of Spanish shoemaking. At the heart of it all has always been the modern metropolitan woman, constantly on the move and unwilling to choose between style and comfort.

That balance is exactly what defines the anniversary collection. The brand’s iconic stretch boots in different versions, now an unmistakable part of its DNA, are joined by innovative takes on stretch construction across loafers, flats and sneakers.
Bringing this vision to life are three women whose relationship with Stuart Weitzman goes far beyond a single campaign. Hadid, Copeland and Mi are longtime ambassadors of the brand, having starred in some of its most memorable campaigns over the past decade.

For Gigi Hadid, the anniversary marks something of a homecoming. The supermodel was the face of Stuart Weitzman for five consecutive seasons and took the partnership one step further in 2016 and 2017, co-creating a series of limited-edition styles.
“I will always have a special connection to Stuart Weitzman as the brand was one of my first-ever luxury fashion partners, so to come back now, 10 years later, and as a mom, to celebrate their 40th anniversary feels like a full-circle moment,” says Hadid.

Then there’s Misty Copeland, the ballerina who made history as the first Black female principal dancer at the American Ballet Theatre.
Strength, discipline, elegance and movement, qualities that feel almost tailor-made for the Stuart Weitzman DNA. It’s no surprise, then, that Copeland still remembers her 2019 campaign with the brand as one of her favorites.

Completing the trio is Yang Mi, one of China’s most acclaimed and influential actresses. She first joined the Stuart Weitzman universe in 2019, when she co-created two limited-edition capsule collections with the brand.
“Stuart Weitzman has been there, helping me know myself better. We’ve always believed that every woman can find her own rhythm, in her own time, between strength and grace,” says the actress.

And perhaps that is the thread tying the entire campaign together: three women, three completely different journeys, one shared vision of contemporary femininity. Confident, dynamic, cosmopolitan and always in motion.
The 40th anniversary collection is available online, at Stuart Weitzman boutiques worldwide and through selected retailers. But the birthday celebrations are only getting started: over the coming months, the brand will take the festivities around the globe with a series of special events, including, naturally, New York City and Shanghai.
