For hundreds of years, Black People have been racially profiled, assaulted, targeted, and murdered for the color of their skin. They’ve been the subject of systemic racism by white supremacists disguised as politicians and police officers who utilize their “monopoly on legitimate violence” to justify the abuses they commit against Black People.
It’s our responsibility to stand in solidarity with Black People, who are protesting for justice and equal opportunities regardless of race.
We accept that we must portray more diversity in our publication and that so far we’ve not done enough to achieve that.
We’re joining “Black Out Tuesday” to reflect on current events and educate ourselves about race issues, so we can listen, learn, and change.
