Valentino brings a sense of boundless exploration and the joy of discovery to its Valentino Escape 2023 capsule collection. This season, the Maison delves into its archives, reimagining three of its iconic prints for a fresh collection of staple pieces that blend past and present.
The Valentino Escape 2023 collection encourages a journey through Maison’s past, reinventing emblematic pieces for the modern day. The Animalier, Loop, and Panther prints find new life on lightweight caftans, breathable mini dresses, and beachwear, turning casual vacation outfits into memorable fashion statements.
Valentino Garavani’s range of accessories, designed with leisure in mind, complements the clothing selection. This includes studded wrap-up sandals, bold Akoni-made eyewear, and classic bags featuring iconic prints.
The Valentino Animalier print pays tribute to the power of animal prints, covering sheer coverups, flowing caftans, and cutout bathing suits. This design first launched in 1967 and made famous by Linda Evangelista in the Fall/Winter 1987-88 campaign, also decorates Valentino Garavani bags and VLogo Signature heels and flats.
The collection introduces a darker tone with the Valentino Panther Print, featuring a series of roaring black panthers and a touch of precious green jade. The panther, first seen on a dress for the Haute Couture Fall/Winter 1967-68 collection, became an instant icon when photographed by Franco Rubartelli on model Veruschka. In the Valentino Escape 2023 collection, the print finds new expression on two-piece beachwear, sequin-embroidered tops, off-the-shoulder dresses, scarves, and beach towels.
Completing the collection, the Valentino Loop print presents a captivating iteration of the brand’s name in a circular design. This print, inspired by the 1971 Viva Valentino advertising campaign pattern, enhances crop tops, shorts, dresses, and clutches with its vibrant colors, exemplifying Maison’s flair for impactful visual storytelling.
