Magliano x U-Power is the climax of the homage to the world of work. Presented for the first time during the FW23-24 fashion show, it celebrates Magliano‘s hero: the worker. It is a tribute to what is most chic for Magliano: fatigue, ‘travaglio’, as they say in dialect. But it is also an invitation to lightness.
U-Power is one of Europe’s leaders in safety clothing. It is omnipresent in all places where it is necessary to work safely. Its shoes are the people’s shoes, worn daily by millions of workers all over the world. Magliano x U-Power celebrates a fundamental part of Magliano’s DNA, honouring the work shoe for both its symbolic and intrinsic value as an object.
The photos taken by Adrian González-Cohen invite lightness, following U-Power’s motto ‘Don’t worry, be happy’. The forklift, a monolithic symbol of the place where U-Power lives – the factory, the warehouse – becomes a symbol of fun between a cigarette break and a sexy moment.
For FW23-24 Magliano has reinterpreted one of U-Power’s great classics, the ‘Scandy’ model, a mary jane with cut out and side tears, in a bold and colourful way. The shoe is available in three different colour variants: the Rave Megamix, multi-coloured in lilac-silver-green, the Beige Megamix, which plays with brown tones with a bright yellow inside, and the Black Megamix version, with contrasting neon green stitching. The shoes are made in Italy with materials of the highest quality and maximum resistance, as well as the iron tip typical of safety shoes.
