Last E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) had one of the best memories regarding a video game since Reggie Fils-Amié’s “My Body is Ready” meme: Cyberpunk 2077’s character based on the “breathtaking” actor Keanu Reeves.
Keanu Reeves’s meme wasn’t the only thing to be hyped about CD Projekt’s upcoming game; Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world FPS (First Person Shooter) RPG (Role-Playing Game) about a mercenary involved into hacking and battles.
The studio released a 14-minutes game play footage showing one of the ruined districts of this fictional city this game created and the variety of skills players can set to accomplish the missions. For example, a “solo” player can gun his way through the enemy’s den with machine guns and turrets, while a “net runner” can hack the enemy’s security system and create distractions to stealth his way through. Since people in this world have cybernetic implants, hackers can even take control of other people’s implants, isn’t it fun?
Developers stated that there is no fixed class and that you can make your character the way you like, including mixing special abilities to create a hybrid character. However, any choice you make brings out different consequences and you must be ready to face them, so choose well your factions and abilities to play your own storyline with its own unique branches. This means that different playthroughs will differ from each other, according to the players’ choices.
It was also revealed that Keanu Reeves’s character is an AI (Artificial Intelligence) on your head named Johnny Silverhand that will accompany us on our journey, and that surely is breathtaking.
Will the game be fun? We bet it will. Will the gameplay be satisfactory? We hope so, but one thing we know for sure is that we won’t have to wait until 2077 to play, because the game is set to launch on April 2020.
