Chimi introduces its first ever ready-to-wear collection, debuting a series of tech-tailored metropolitan uniforms designed to inspire its wearers to capture every aspect of a life in movement.
The 20-piece line is expanding the Chimi universe with carefully developed garments and accessories defined by architectural shapes, innovative performance fabrics and an obsessive attention to detail. Crafted with Chimi’s contemporary clients in mind, it blends seamlessly in with the label’s signature eyewear styles, and is equally intended to be worn by all genders.
”We don’t see ourselves as a conventional fashion brand. Rather, we intend to open up new points of reference, so that we can exist as a platform for our wearers to experience and thrive in the rhythm and rituals of a multifaceted 21st-century life”, says Creative Director Charlie Lindström.
Each piece strikes a balance between design and performance. The idea is to bring sports fabrications into tailoring, and tailoring fabrics into sport. Enveloping silhouettes in Italian recycled nylon are tailored to follow the shapes of the body, creating standout monochromatic looks that work with both trainers and heels. Nodding to ballet and live performance stage creations, the garments are envisioned to endure the intensity of a body in motion. Movement brings to life the craft and artistry of each piece—and magnifies it, too.
Wearability and aesthetical longevity is key: A floor-sweeping scarlet red dress with an open back is made in a sturdy yet breathable and sweat-resistant jersey fabric, a rich brown cropped jacket and mini skirt duo is weatherproof and comes with versatile two-way pullers, and a matte silver three-piece look shields its wearer from water and wind in multi-seasonal layers, showcasing the technical sophistication involved in this collection.
