This avant-garde shoe integrates a unique hollowed-out TPU plate, originally designed by the Adidas innovation squad for performance purposes. Merging this with the classic Superstar design has led to a fresh, dynamic look, epitomizing the fusion of Yohji Yamamoto’s style with the signature Three Stripes of Adidas.
Introduced during Yohji Yamamoto’s runway show, the Y-3 GENDO sneaker boldly delves into the concepts of negative space and elevation. The shoe is characterized by its hollowed-out hard polymer plate combined with a top-quality leather exterior. Revisiting Adidas’ rich history, the Y-3 GENDO Superstar juxtaposes the futuristic midsole design with a traditional Superstar upper. In contrast, the Y-3 GENDO ProModel showcases a high-top Pro Model exterior, replacing the usual lacing with a distinctive zipper closure.
